Contrato para Instalación de Penn State Hockey
Montel, a global leader of high-density mobile storage shelving system solutions for office, institutional and industrial applications, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a sports equipment mobile shelving storage contract for the new Pegula Ice Arena—Penn State Icers’ Division I Hockey facility, in University Park, PA on the campus of Penn State University.
Working closely with Pennsylvania Business Partners, the exclusive Authorized Montel Distributor serving Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, the awarded contract to Montel involves providing Mobilex® high-density mechanical mobile storage systems and SmartShelf® 4-post hybrid shelving units. The specialized athletic/sports compact and stationary storage solution will allow the Penn State Nittany Lions hockey teams (Mens and Womens) to optimize space utilization for improved hockey equipment storage organization and accessibility.

Pegula Ice Arena, the future home of Penn State hockey which broke ground in early February 2012, will feature two ice surfaces - a main rink, home to Penn State's varsity hockey programs, and a community rink. The main arena will feature 6,000 seats, including a 1,000-seat student section. The two-sheet facility will be home to the Nittany Lions beginning with the 2013-14 season and will feature a 5,000-square foot weight room, hydrotherapy training room, steam room, team lounge and locker room area.
Leading builder headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, Mortenson Construction was selected to build the estimated $89 million dollars new hockey facility. The architectural team for this project is Crawford Architects from Kansas City, MO and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (BCJ) from Wilkes Barre, PA.
