Estanterías sistema de almacenamiento en HEC Montreal

Logo Hec Montreal

Montel, a global leader of high-density mobile storage shelving system solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to furnish the new powered compact storage system for the Myriam et J.-Robert Ouimet library at HEC Montreal in Montreal, QC.

In collaboration with our Authorized Montel Distributor, Solutions de rangement Prisma, the awarded contract to the Montel Team will involve the supply and the installation of its SafeAisle® high-density powered mobile storage system and Aetnastak® cantilever library shelving system.

Wanting to redesign the academic library space, by offering less space for housing the collections and increasing the conducive study space for users, compact shelving will recover about 40% of the space occupied by the traditional stationary library space, providing more collaborative workspaces for students.

In reference to the specifications prepared by Jodoin Lamarre Pratte Architectes, the new mobile storage system will include key safety features. More specifically, LED Guard Technology (LGT) safety system covering the whole aisle surface shall be present in each aisle. The safety system shall be provided to prevent any carriage movement if the system detects users or objects anywhere in the open aisle, providing complete aisle-detection. In addition, the safety system shall be totally passive requiring no conscious effort to activate the safety system. Finally, a remote system monitoring software (PC-based diagnostic system) shall be available for monitoring and configuring all mobile system’s safety, power, and functionality processes, automatically notifying specified service personnel of abnormalities with system operation or safety systems

“We are very proud that HEC Montreal chose our powered mobile storage system,” said Joey P. Boudreau, Marketing Director of Montel. “For this new innovative library space planning project, in collaboration with our distributor Solutions de rangement Prisma, the SafeAisle selection confirms our superior product quality and the confidence HEC Montreal entrusts in our team.”

The new space planning works in the library, which have already commenced by Solutions de rangement Prisma, are expected to be completed by January 2014.
