The Pittsburgh Penguins face big hockey equipment storage problems. Montel gets right to the point by modernizing their facilities.
Padding, helmets and other safety equipment protect players against the risk of injury on the ice, but the locker room can expose players to trouble as well. For one, proper sports storage reduces trip-and-fall risks that could end in raised insurance costs. Hockey is dangerous enough as it is – preventing avoidable injuries is always helpful. With the new construction of the CONSOL Energy Center, the National Hockey League franchised member club Pittsburgh Penguins needed efficient storage solutions to house their hockey equipment and gear. That’s why the Pittsburgh Penguins looked to Montel to bring their sporting goods storage into the 21st century.

For the Penguins’ new workspace environment, in order to improve storage methods, the Equipment Management Team were searching for efficient ways to optimize space utilization and improve hockey equipment storage accessibility and organization.
After determining the equipment and gear inventory, and reviewing the allocated storage space, an innovative custom-designed mobile & static storage solution was proposed for the Penguins’ equipment storage room and laundry room. These units combine rugged hardware and smart athletic equipment storage solutions to help players, coaches and the rest of the team organized, and stay focused and prepared both on and off the ice.

Montel provided the following state-of-the-art athletic equipment high-density mobile and static shelving product configurations.
